Life in the City of Lakes

This time of year, one of my very favorite places to go is the Lakes...Isles, Calhoun and Harriet! I've assembled quite the crew of friends and family who love to get together and catch up over a walk around one of my favorite little slices of urban nature. Nothing feels more like the official start of spring/summer than the minute the ice goes out, the ducks return and the trees start greening up. This year, that happened as early as March! This intrepid little duck was just as happy about it as I was.

Since the ice went out, I've been up there a ton with Hannah, Kelsie and my parents, as usual! Of course I wouldn't be a blogger (or obsessed with Minneapolis) if I didn't take five million pictures anytime I went anywhere...so here's a quick photo dump of the Lakes season thus far...

canoes at Harriet with snow and ice still lurking in the shade

Bread and Pickle's fresh coat of spring paint

Things starting to green up over at Harriet, and all the boats out at their slips!

the turrets of the Bandshell...so excited for Yoga in the Park and the Summer Concert Series to start up again!

Calhoun sailors who are much braver than me...the water has got to be FREEZING.

Ditto kayakers on Harriet just a couple of weeks ago!

I got eaten alive by the season's first mosquitoes on this sunset Harriet walk...

Calhoun canoes a couple of weeks ago! Notice how much greener and grown in everything is compared to the April Harriet pics?

And of course that perfect Calhoun skyline view. So obsessed with this city.

Who's in for a wine and walking date at Bread and Pickle?! If you need me, you'll know where to find me...as soon as I'm back!
